Coping Tools to Put Your Mind on a Leash

In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week: October 2-8, 2022, McKenzie College has invited Richard Jones from SAGE Counselling Services to lead our virtual workshop Creative Studio- Coping Tools to Put Your Mind on a Leash. During this workshop we will learn about tools and resources that can be used to help students feel better prepared to cope mentally and emotionally with life’s stresses.

Richard Jones is a Licensed Counselling Therapist-Candidate at SAGE Counselling Services, who encourages clients to build psychological flexibility and enable them to pursue what matters to each of them.

He believes in helping clients understand how their minds work, how to use their minds as a tool, and when not to “buy in” to unhelpful thoughts. To paraphrase a quote, “Just because thoughts are coming at you, doesn’t mean you have to invite them all to tea.”
